Kids Clay
Held in our dedicated KidZone at EarthWorks ClaySpace, our six-week course combines pottery wheel instruction and handbuilding for a well-rounded introduction to ceramics. Students will learn studio maintenance, foundational techniques, work with a variety of tools and materials, and take their pieces through the ceramic process from wet clay to glazing and finished work.
While our instructors will introduce themes, demonstrations, and project ideas throughout the course, we don't expect every student to make the same thing. Instead, young artists will be encouraged to experiment, make their own creative choices, and use the techniques they're learning to bring their own ideas to life.
With artists ranging from ages 6–15, students may be divided into smaller groups based on age, experience, and ability after our instructors have had a chance to get to know everyone. This allows us to meet students where they are—providing plenty of support for newer makers while giving more experienced artists opportunities to challenge themselves.
We accept CharterSchool Vendor Credits!
