About the event
Ready to move beyond “pick a color and hope for the best”? Let our talented instructor Tatem be your guide!
GlazeLab is a six-week deep dive into the science, techniques, tools, and artistry behind ceramic glazing. Designed for curious beginners, current pottery students, and experienced makers alike, this course focuses on understanding glaze behavior through guided experimentation, testing, and hands-on demos using some of the industry’s most popular commercial glaze systems.
Students will explore the unique characteristics of Mayco Stroke & Coat, Jungle Gems, Underglazes, and Stoneware glazes, while also experimenting with select specialty products from AMACO and Spectrum Glazes — including highly reactive movement glazes such as Running Hot Chowder.
This course works beautifully as a supplement to wheel or handbuilding courses but can also be taken as a standalone educational experience.
This GlazeLab course runs for six weeks on Sunday afternoons from 130p-3p.
