ClayClub: Pinch Pot Spider

Does your child love spiders? We have the perfect workshop for them!

Before jumping into the clay-creating activity, Tatem (our talented instructor) will lead a Q+A discussion about spiders as she provides a live feeding demonstration of her pet tarantula(s)! The youth participants go crazy for this and love the close encounter with the creepy crawly!

The youth artists will then use black clay to form pinchpots which will form the body of their creatures, then use the slip+score method to apply legs and other attachments.

ClayClub series workshops focus on the creation + formation of the clay pieces, so generally no painting/glazing will be done by participants during the 1.5hr session. That said, at the end of class, each artist will choose to have our team finish their piece with either a single color or a clear glaze, ready to be picked up in approximately four weeks.
