Spring ClayCamp: Cool Kites

We offer a different project each day of Spring ClayCamp, so you can register for either session per day (there is a morning session from 9am-12pm or an afternoon session from 1pm-4pm) and have a new creative project to make each day of the week! This event is for Tuesday, April 7th.

Let creativity take flight in this playful Clay Camp inspired by things that soar through the sky! While clay and ceramics are at the heart of each session, young artists (ages 6-10)will also experiment with a mixed media activity on theme. Participants will create two fun projects: a ceramic kite decoration and a colorful paper kite. 

Young artists will explore the functionality of kites by creating their own paper kites. Then, artists will build their own ceramic kite using hand building techniques. They’ll shape clay into a kite form, carve lines and textures, and add decorative patterns, finishing with…
