Beginning Basics - Thursdays

Beginning Basics is your chance to learn and gain confidence on the pottery wheel in a fun, friendly environment. You'll first get a studio of our space and introduced to the syllabus, then jump right into creating with clay! This course will guide you step-by-step through the fundamentals of throwing—from understanding how to properly center the clay, to shaping it into a cylinder, to trimming and finally glazing. Throughout the course, you’ll have the opportunity to experiment - both in class and during open studio - developing skills at your own pace. With personalized support from the instructor, you’ll leave this class feeling empowered and ready to create pottery pieces you can be proud of. This course is perfect for total beginners or those who have tried the wheel before but want to gain a deeper understanding of the technique. Limited handbuilding techniques will covered.
